Get to know me

Hi there, my name is Jamie Mackenzie, certified personal trainer and founder of Mackenzie Fitness. I have always had a passion for health and fitness and I have enjoyed being active since childhood.

Growing up, my main focus was rugby. I represented Devon under 15’s and 16’s but soon after this, my attention quickly shifted to health and fitness. I joined a gym and just loved the sense of achievement I got from working hard and seeing results. I remember this point very well in my life because this was when I made the decision to become a personal trainer. I wanted to help people feel the way I felt by achieving goals, seeing results and improving their wellbeing.

I went to college and gained my qualifications, whilst working hard and building a name for myself as a fitness instructor. Since then I have not looked back!

I am constantly developing my career to give my clients the best possible service and I am proud to say that I have created a fully equipped private studio just 10 minutes outside of Crediton. My goal was to create an experience for clients that few trainers could replicate and providing a private space that is exclusive to clients was the perfect solution! Having an entire studio to yourself cuts out distractions and enables you to focus on the exercises you are doing so I am over the moon to include this as part of the service. I am also able to do home visits (depending on location) for anyone who feels this is more suitable for them.

I take a very rounded approach when it comes to working with clients. After all, you can be physically fit but still unhealthy: Health is mental and social as well as physical and because of this, I make a point of addressing other lifestyle factors with clients such as nutrition, time management and general wellbeing. I love working with all different ages and abilities so if you think personal training is something that would benefit you, please get in touch. I would love to work with you!
